Ethics and the Use of Technology in the Litigation Process – Social Media, Depositions, Jury Selection, and Witness Research

Attorneys need to know how to use social media to research witnesses and prospective jury members as well as to promote themselves, while also maintaining their professionalism and adhering to the ethics rules pertaining to communications, confidentiality, privacy and advertising. In this webinar, Gordon & Rees attorneys discussed social media and the specific ways in which it relates to and poses risks to attorneys. They explained how to use social media effectively in the litigation context and in a way that does not endanger attorneys or their clients. In addition, a number of useful tips and a discussion of recent ethics opinions concerning the use of social media for both new and experienced users were included.
